Danfoss Power Solutions is looking for a highly motivated Senior Systems Engineer specializing in hydraulic systems to work in its Digital Displacement innovation center located in Edinburgh, Scotland. In this position, you will work in a team developing and supporting Digital Displacement applications for mobile off-highway machinery.
Job Responsibilities
As our new Senior Systems Engineer, responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Develop prototype hardware and software from concept to implementation
2. Perform tests to evaluate the performance of prototype systems and analyse the data
3. Support customer applications from beginning to end
4. Deliver viable concepts to the product development team
5. Provide support to other departments as required by the product development team
6. Assist with the preparation of patent filings
7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of innovations in this field, identify opportunities, and conduct independent research
To succeed in this position, we are expecting you to have:
1. A Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering and 5 years of experience, or a PhD in the field of fluid power research and development
2. Simulation and modelling experience, particularly the use of model-based design to develop control systems using Matlab Simulink
3. Strong analytical skills
4. Knowledge of data acquisition and data analysis
5. Working knowledge of control theory concepts
6. Basic or working coding/programming knowledge
7. Practical mechanical and electrical skills
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
9. Willingness to travel
Desirable is if you have experience of some of the following:
1. Experience with CAN bus communication
2. Customer interaction experience, particularly working with large OEMs
3. Experience with excavators, heavy machinery, on or off-highway vehicles
4. 3D CAD experience, e.g., Solidworks or Siemens NX
