University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a proactive experienced individual for the role of Business Manager for the Chief Executive.
The Business Manager for the Chief Executive is a crucial role. You will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer in ensuring the efficient operation of the Chief Executive's Office whilst supporting the wider strategic objectives and in responding to issues facing the Trust. This will include supporting strategic, system-wide change which supports the attainment of the Trust’s corporate objectives in responding to issues both within the Trust and the Provider Collaborative and wider Integrated Care system.
The purpose of the role is to work as a key member of the Chief Executive Officer’s team in the management of relationships with internal and external partners and to maximise the effectiveness of the Chief Executive and the Corporate Team.
The role will be a senior member of the Chief Executive Officer’s team and thus will be required to consistently operate with a high level of political awareness, personal influence and skill, working effectively with external partners including providers, NHSE/I regulators, patients, and carers, to deliver programme objectives in accordance with the aims and ambitions of the Trust and the related portfolio responsibilities of the Chief Executive Officer.
To work in partnership with the Chief Executive Officer leading on the development of the Chair & Chief Executive’s annual business plan and refinement of key strategic documents and policies which underpin the delivery of the Chief Executive Officer’s portfolio of responsibilities interpreting external policies, advice and guidance to determine the relevance.
To lead on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer, the development of effective communication structures for the presenting of updates to various internal and external forums, working with colleagues across the Trust and wider system, to support business planning and monitoring ensuring progress on the delivery.
To represent the Chief Executive Officer’s team acting as an ambassador for the Trust to influence and negotiate change both within the Trust and wider system to minimise the potential for quality service improvements and reduced variation, including for example Population Health and ICS and ICP committees and Boards. The post holder needs to understand the roles, responsibilities and functions of different departments and people as needed.
To contribute to work with senior leadership team in the development, management, and implementation of the Chief Executive Officer’s portfolio of responsibility for the required transformational change for improved quality service delivery across a range of workstreams.
