About the role
Are you passionate about caring for the environment? We have an exciting opportunity to join our Water team as a Strategic Planning Manager, working with your colleagues to deliver Strategic Planning for our customers, communities, and the environment. The role can be based in either Pity Me, Durham or Chelmsford, Essex.
As a part of this exciting new opportunity, you will lead a team of professional subject matter experts to identify the strategic asset management objectives balancing service, asset, and business requirements. This role will understand the impact on the business of our plans including our funding needs, resources and skills, and our asset needs. It will identify the planning scenarios we should be working within and use horizon scanning to monitor for any changes we may need to consider that would impact our plans. You will monitor and coach the overall performance of the Water Strategic Planning team.
Please note as apart of this role you will be required to participate in a senior standby Rota.
About you
You will ideally need to have a track record in strategic planning and asset management in large asset base organisations, as well as extensive experience operating in heavily regulated businesses. You will also have a broad understanding of the utility industry and external factors that can influence including political, economic, social, and technological issues. You will also have the ability to filter, prioritise, and analyse data from internal and external databases.
