Job Description
As a Social Media Specialist, you’ll be at the forefront of engaging Gen Z audiences in the exciting world of fintech. You’ll manage a vibrant social media presence across multiple platforms, creating content that educates and entertains while adhering to financial regulations. This role offers a unique blend of creativity and strategy, allowing you to work with a vast library of existing content while developing new ideas to captivate young audiences. If you’re passionate about social media trends, have a knack for creating engaging content, and are interested in finance and technology, this position offers an exciting opportunity to grow with a rapidly expanding startup.
Responsibilities
* Create and schedule compelling content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Snapchat, and Reddit.
* Repurpose and optimize a vast library of existing video and image content (2TB, ~15,000 assets) for various social platforms.
* Manage social media inboxes, fostering community engagement and addressing user queries.
* Collaborate with the fractional CMO and marketing agency to execute innovative social media strategies.
* Ensure all content aligns with financial regulations and internal compliance guidelines.
* Monitor social media trends and adapt strategies to maintain high engagement levels.
* Contribute to the growth of the company’s social media presence, building on the existing 100,000 follower base.
Requirements
* Proven experience in creating and managing content for Gen Z audiences across major social media platforms.
* Strong understanding of current social media trends, best practices, and platform-specific nuances.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Ability to work within compliance guidelines for financial services (experience in regulated industries a plus).
* Proficiency with content management systems, preferably Notion.
* Basic video and image editing skills to repurpose and optimize existing content.
* Interest in fintech, financial education, and the evolving landscape of personal finance.
* Flexibility to work part-time with the potential for increased hours as the company grows.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
* Creativity and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
Please note that since this is a permanent work-from-home position and an “Independent Contractor” arrangement, the candidates must have their own computer and internet connection.
