Due to continued growth, we are now seeking a Transport Planner to join our Transport team at our Rugby site.
Job Overview
As a Transport Planner, you will contribute to the success of the transport team by overseeing the day-to-day planning of transport operations. You should be highly motivated, experienced in fast-paced environments, and capable of handling daily challenges to provide effective transport plans.
Position Details
This is a full-time, permanent position working:
4 on 4 off Nights, 6pm to 6am.
Salary: £30,000
Location: Rugby
Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with Transport and Warehouse teams to create efficient transport plans using the latest TMS.
2. Manage subcontracting and planning orders from multiple UK sites.
3. Plan daily workload for fleet, including vehicles based on-site and outbases.
4. Report problems, resolve issues, and handle queries.
5. Schedule collections daily on a time-critical basis.
6. Maintain and exceed KPI targets.
7. Identify and implement continuous improvements.
8. Make decisions under pressure within tight deadlines.
9. Adapt to business needs, especially during peak periods.
10. Utilize the Culina Group network effectively to support Stobart’s operations when volume demands.
Qualifications & Skills
* Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
* CPC qualification is desirable but not mandatory.
* Experience planning 100+ tractor units across multiple depots.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
* Customer-focused with strong delivery performance.
* Financially and commercially astute, results-driven.
* Experience using a TMS system.
* Experience in an FMCG environment.
* Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel formulas.
