Applications are invited for 4 Intensive Care Registrars at The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This post is for six months to one year, depending on the needs of the applicant. The applicant must be airway trained and there will be regular opportunity for theatre lists and delivery of teaching.
For any suitable overseas candidates there is an option for an extended contract for Visa purposes.
The post holder will be responsible for the daily review and management of critically ill adult patients in the critical care department. The candidate will be based on the Intensive Care Unit, but will also be responsible for reviewing and managing critically ill patients throughout the hospital, primarily on the wards and in the emergency department.
Under the supervision of the Intensive Care Consultants, you will assist in the assessment, admission, day-to-day management, investigation, practical procedures and final discharge of patients. The ITU registrars will be expected to work at the level of a Specialty Registrar, with increased responsibility for assessment and management of unwell patients in the ITU and hospital, and for the supervision of more junior trainees. They will be supported in this by the consultant body.
