Europe's top cancer charity, Cancer Research UK, has combined with the University of Cambridge to fund the world class Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute, situated on the Addenbrookes Biomedical Campus in Cambridge. As part of the University Of Cambridge School Of Clinical Medicine, the Institute's research ranges from basic cancer biology through translational cancer research to clinical application. The Institute currently houses over 400 researchers and support staff with 18 research groups and associated core facilities in a state-of-the-art research facility. The Pharmacokinetics/Bioanalytics (PK/B) Core Facility based in the CRUK Cambridge Institute offers a diverse analytical service to the research groups for the quantification of small molecules in support of a wide range of pre-clinical and clinical based projects. The role will involve the development, validation and execution of quantitative LC-MS/MS methods for small molecules in a wide variety of biological matrices. We are looking for an experienced, motivated and focussed individual willing to learn new laboratory skills. The role holder will be expected to focus on developing and validating bioanalytical assays according to the relevant regulatory guidelines, and apply these methods to routine analysis of samples from pre-clinical and clinical studies. In addition, you will assist as required in general laboratory administrative, housekeeping and maintenance duties. The successful candidate will also be responsible for: General duties involving the analysis of samples using quantitative LC-MS/MS methods for small molecules in a wide variety of biological matrices Developing and validating analytical methods in support of various pre-clinical and clinical studies Ensuring methods are performed to GC(L)P guidelines and relevant SOPs Reporting results within allocated studies and time frames Contributing to the production of publications and regulatory documents Conducting literature and database searches to support development projects Day to day maintenance of allocated equipment according to local SOPs Planning own day-to-day research activity within the framework of the agreed programme Contributing at scheduling meetings to ensure team goals are met Assisting with basic laboratory administration tasks such as ordering of consumables and maintaining a safe working environment Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check and a security check.
