JOB TITLE: BASE SHUNTER A BRIEF SUMMARY As a Base Shunter, you will be manoeuvring HGV vehicles around our Chalgrove maintenance facility to and from our base in High Wycombe, and facilitating the movement of fleet vehicles to maintenance and storage facilities further afield as required by the Operations Department. WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR The primary daily duties will be the manoeuvring of HGV vehicles and trailers between our various premises within a busy industrial estate. A careful, considerate, and detailed approach is required. Normal shifts will be Mon-Fri, 0730-1530 or 1000-1800. When not driving, the role will also entail supporting the fleet with various other duties such as: Washing of vehicles using company truck wash facility Refuelling of vehicles using company fuelling facility Minor maintenance tasks such as bulb changes and reporting faults Coupling and uncoupling of trailers as required Any other duties deemed appropriate, such as yard cleanliness Forklift Truck operation (subject to training/qualification) THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF You have a CE Driving licence Are in possession of a Digital Tachometer card Are in possession of a Full CPC Licence You have a polite and respectful manner Act professionally at all times, even in situations of pressure Enjoy working as part of small team delivering exceptional service Ability to complete record sheets and paperwork accurately
