Job Description:
The role involves chairing multi-agency planning meetings for children and young people, ensuring effective partnership working with internal and external services to deliver coordinated plans that address identified needs and risks.
Responsibilities include allocating and managing staff resources through case management systems, ensuring all cases have outcome-focused care plans that are regularly reviewed.
Supervising and appraising staff to meet professional standards, supporting continuous professional development, and ensuring compliance with social care standards.
Monitoring team performance using performance management tools to meet local and national targets.
Quality assuring and auditing social work records, assessments, and plans to maintain practice standards and support staff development.
Managing staff elements such as recruitment, progression, capability, and absence in line with policies.
Ensuring statutory social work requirements are met and policies are adhered to.
Providing critical reflection and evidence-informed decision-making in complex situations involving children, supporting others in developing these skills.
Promoting diversity and identity within the team and department, implementing policy developments accordingly.
Participating in front-line practice when required.
Supporting evidence-based practice and facilitating projects that improve operational practice.
Collaborating with other service functions for coordinated responses to needs.
Managing departmental expenditure within guidelines and maintaining monitoring systems.
Ensuring statutory and policy compliance in service delivery, including meeting the needs of ethnic minorities and disadvantaged groups.
Ensuring health and safety of staff, adhering to statutory requirements.
