Job Title: Food and Beverage Supervisor

Job Summary:
Missenden Abbey is seeking a dynamic and motivated Food and Beverage Supervisor to join our team, overseeing the smooth and efficient operation of our food and beverage services. The successful candidate will ensure our guests receive a memorable experience through excellent service, high standards, and a warm atmosphere. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage day-to-day operations, coordinate with team members, and enhance guest satisfaction while upholding Missenden Abbey's commitment to quality and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
* Team Supervision and Training:
* Lead, train, and supervise the food and beverage team to ensure exceptional guest service and adherence to hospitality standards. Conduct regular briefings and training sessions to maintain team morale and service consistency.
* Operational Management:
* Oversee day-to-day operations in the restaurant, bar, and events areas, ensuring that all services run smoothly, efficiently, and in accordance with health and safety regulations. Anticipate and address any potential issues in a proactive manner.
* Guest Experience:
* Deliver an outstanding guest experience by being present on the floor, interacting with guests, handling special requests, and managing feedback to maintain high satisfaction levels. Ensure all team members provide a warm, welcoming, and attentive service.
* Event Coordination:
* Work closely with the Events Team to plan and execute conferences, weddings, and other special occasions, making sure all food and beverage service aspects align with guest expectations and Missenden Abbey's standards.
* Inventory and Stock Management:
* Monitor and manage stock levels of beverages, food, and supplies, placing orders as necessary. Conduct regular inventories and minimise waste while ensuring the availability of all necessary items.
* Compliance and Quality Control:
* Uphold food safety and hygiene standards in line with regulations, including conducting regular checks on cleanliness, food handling, and storage. Implement best practices in quality control for food and beverages.
* Financial Responsibilities:
* Support the Food and Beverage Manager in managing budgets, controlling costs, and maximizing revenue opportunities. Participate in monthly stock takes, assist with payroll management, and ensure adherence to financial targets.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in a supervisory role within food and beverage or hospitality sectors.
* Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, with an understanding of high-quality service delivery.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
* Knowledge of health and safety standards, food hygiene, and licensing laws.
* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with event coordination in hospitality settings is a plus.
* Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software.
