Fully Funded Trainee HGV Driver – Launch Your Career with Cotteswold Dairy
Are you looking for a fresh start and a fully funded path to become an HGV driver? Maybe you are a delivery driver with experience in multi-drop; or are you looking for a complete change of career? Cotteswold Dairy are excited to offer a Trainee HGV Driver position as part of our commitment to training and development, in partnership with PDT. This is your chance to gain an HGV licence with support from a family-owned business with over 85 years of excellence in distribution.
No previous haulage experience is required—anyone over the age of 18 with a clean, valid UK driver’s licence can apply!

Our training course is designed to help you every step of the way. You’ll have access to:
Guidance and Orientation: Get to know logistics with an introductory training session.
Medical Exam: We arrange your pre-course medical check.
Theory and Practical Preparation: Access an online revision portal and gain hands-on experience for both theory and hazard perception tests.
Buddy System: Ride along with seasoned drivers, learning the routes and customer interactions.
Real-World Skills: Gain experience in vehicle loading, warehouse operations, and customer deliveries.Please note that theory prep, studying for CPC modules and formal practical training will take place in our head office, depots, or in training schools close to your base location during daytime hours. On-the-job training and buddy learning will take place overnight - with any subsequent driving roles usually being night-based roles.
Your Role After Training
Upon completing the program, you’ll be ready to take on duties as an HGV Driver, including:
Operating HGV vehicles in line with your classification.
Safely transporting dairy products.
Loading and unloading stock using roll cages and pallets.
Conducting vehicle checks at the start and end of shifts.
Delivering products to wholesale and semi-retail customers while providing excellent customer service.Working Hours
Full-time: 48 hours per week on a rotating schedule, five shifts across Monday to Sunday.
Flexible training that includes both day and night shifts to give you a solid foundation for your HGV career.What We’re Looking For
A clean UK driving licence: DVLA checks will be required prior to an offer
Physical readiness for an active role that includes manual handling - this includes the ability to pass the DVLA medical.
A positive, reliable, and motivated individual eager to learn and grow.
