Job overview
The vacancy is for three night shifts from 22:30-08:15.
The post-holder will be a member of the Out of Hours Team who will assist the qualified nurse to care for patients, ensuring the effective delivery of treatment for patients. The post holder will work regularly with direct supervision whilst undertaking duties assigned by the Shift Lead.
Main duties of the job
1. Working under the direct supervision of the Team Leader/Band 6 Shift Lead.
2. Communicating with people clearly in a manner, and at a level and pace appropriate to their abilities and preferences.
3. Correctly undertaking delegated tasks that the Team Leader/Caseload holder deems within the ability of the post holder and for which they have received training and are deemed competent.
4. Assisting the qualified nurse in the assessment and treatment of patient health and well-being needs.
5. Undertake clinical tasks following appropriate competency training, for example, basic wound care and simple dressings, recording of blood pressure/TPR/oxygen saturations and phlebotomy/venepuncture.

Qualifications & Education
* Experience as a Health Care Assistant in the acute or community nursing setting.
* NVQ level 2 in Health & Social Care.
* English and Maths Qualifications at one of the following academic levels/grades:- O Level - Grade A to C CSE Grade 1 only GCSE Grade A to C GCSE Grade 9 to 4 Functional skills Level 2.
Knowledge & Training
* Understanding of confidentiality and Data Protection Act.
