We are looking for a dedicated Phonics Support Teaching Assistant to join our team in a primary school in Thornton (FY5). This part-time role is perfect for someone with experience in a primary setting who is confident in providing tailored phonics support to pupils with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide phonics support to students in a classroom setting
* ✏️ Assist the teacher in planning and delivering engaging phonics lessons
* Work with individuals or small groups of students to improve reading and phonics skills
* Monitor and assess students' progress in phonics
* Collaborate with teaching staff to develop individualised learning plans
Requirements:
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
* Previous experience working with children or young adults
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* A calm and patient presence for supporting struggling children
