Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our esteemed legal team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our legal professionals by managing administrative tasks and ensuring the smooth operation of our office. This position requires strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in various IT applications.
Duties
* Provide comprehensive administrative support to solicitors and other legal staff.
* Manage and organise legal documents, ensuring all files are up to date and easily accessible.
* Prepare correspondence, reports, and legal documents using Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Conduct audio typing for dictations and transcriptions as required.
* Maintain an efficient filing system for both electronic and paper documents.
* Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external parties to facilitate smooth operations.
* Assist in scheduling appointments, meetings, and court dates for legal professionals.
* The role is available on either a part or full time basis and the successful candidate must be an experienced Audio typist and familiar with using digital dictation.
Duties will also include delivering a professional and friendly service when answering phones along with meeting & greeting clients face to face at reception.
Generally providing secretarial support to a solicitor dealing with both Residential and Commercial Conveyancing, Wills, Probate & Court of Protection matters.
It is a preference to have had previous Conveyancing experience.
Effective communication and organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage your time effectively are essential. This is a small but busy branch office so the ability to work well under pressure and independently at times is crucial. You will be working as part of a team within a highly regarded private practice law firm with most of the work coming from personal recommendations and returning clients.
