Barts Health is looking for Band 2 Admin Ward Clerk with ideally previous experience working in a hospital setting or front facing role/receptionist.
An exciting opportunity has arisen on our Children’s Day care unit 6B for a motivated, committed, and enthusiastic individual to join our team.
The nurse-led Children’s Day care Unit is part of a versatile and dynamic service, providing high quality holistic care with an emphasis on working in partnership with the children and their families. The Ward is split into two specialities, Surgical Unit and Medical Unit, our opening hours are Monday to Friday 7:00am- 21:00pm, you would be required to work from 7am to 3pm each day.
We are looking for individuals who are keen to friendly, engaging works well in a team and under pressure. They also need to be enthusiastic about learning and developing new skills, proactive, adaptable and always shows excellent communication skills. This post includes assisting qualified nursing staff in the planning and prioritising of care operationally to ensure the service is delivered smoothly.
Barts Health has a busy and demanding children’s service requiring staff to be flexible in their working. The post holder will be required to work within a challenging clinical environment and may undertake additional duties agreed on within scope of practice.
Main duties of the job
To work with limited supervision as part of an Admin team, providing a clerical support service to medical and nursing staff at ward level. To display sensitivity and tact in dealing with patients and relatives.
To have a responsible outlook in order to cope with the unpredictable nature of ward activity, using prioritising skills and discretion to organise a daily workload to take account of deadlines and degrees of urgency.
