About the role:
Our Financial Services Tax deals team works closely with our Deals practice to advise on the tax implications of a wide variety of deals involving financial services firms. This includes providing tax advice on mergers & acquisitions, IPOs, and refinancing/restructuring of previous transactions.
We are looking for an individual to join our FS Tax deals team as an FS Mergers and Acquisition tax specialist. As part of our wider FS Tax practice, you will also have the opportunity to work on complex international tax structuring/advisory projects outside a deals context.

You will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with the most dynamic, multinational financial institutions in the world, including private equity firms, banks, insurers, fintech groups, securities broker/dealers, and asset & wealth managers.
What your days will look like:
1. Leading teams to deliver bespoke, commercially focused tax advice in a fast-paced and evolving international deals market.
2. Responsibility for establishing and maintaining relationships as a trusted advisor, and for ensuring successful delivery and management of projects including seeking opportunities to deliver and enhance value for new and existing clients, in particular identifying and pursuing post-deal value add opportunities.
3. Developing your internal network to draw upon specialist input on tax and non-tax matters in connection with transactions.
4. Being agile and open-minded in your approach to new challenges and seek opportunities to enhance project delivery through new technologies.
This role is for you if:
1. You have an enquiring mind and clear, demonstrable examples of providing clients with solutions as part of a diverse team.
2. You're skilled in leading teams on a number of M&A transactions including due diligence and structuring and experience project managing multiple projects to tight deadlines.
3. You have a proven track record of building internal and external relationships and networks, both within the UK and overseas and developed communication skills, specifically in negotiating with and influencing others.
4. You have strong analytical, project management and report writing skills.
