About The Role
Oversee and manage accurate and efficient data entry to Purchase Ledger, ensuring relevant accounting controls and procedures are maintained and followed. To keep up to date/input financial information into various systems and maintain the integrity of financial and reporting systems, extracting information as and when required to assist with compilation of monthly management accounts reporting and analysis.
Duties:
* Direct line management and co-ordination of Purchase Ledger Assistants, which includes assessing training needs, mentoring and coaching as required.
* Manage all queries from internal and external stakeholders through to resolution.
* Daily monitoring of Purchase Ledger log and various P&L ledgers.
* KPI reporting and monitoring.
* All purchase ledger administration including logging, posting and payment of invoices.
* Daily reconciliation of payments to ensure accuracy and timely allocations.
* Regular monitoring of debit balances to ensure timely resolution.
* Coordination and close out of month end processes and routines to strict deadlines.
* Calculation of monthly accruals and prepayments.
* Balance sheet reconciliation.
* Calculation and submission of quarterly VAT returns.
* Forecasting of purchase ledger cash requirements.
* Assist in ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
* Assist as required in internal or external audit processes.
* Proactively support continuous improvement of purchase ledger processes and systems.
* Create and maintain an effective and positive working relationship between purchase ledger and the wider business.
* Provide assistance in other areas of finance as required.
* Responsible for ensuring professional development is maintained and identified competency requirements are undertaken in a timely manner.
* Adherence to the company integrated management system.
* Compliance with quality assurance, health and safety and environmental policies.
* Demonstrate and promote PD&MS QHSE principles and lead by example.
* Ensure unsafe activities are challenged.
* Adherence to the requirements of the best practice standards recommendations and processes in the undertaking of duties, in particular, risk assessment and control, reliability and failure prevention necessary to ensure the safe design, provision and use of tools, equipment and systems.
* Demonstrate and promote PD&MS values and lead by example.
* Ensure direct report performance reviews are carried out within the required timescales (where applicable).
About You
Suitable candidates for this role will be educated to higher level or equivalent with passes in Maths and English with previous experience in a similar role using Corporate Systems e.g. Sage. Candidates will be competent in the use of MS Office applications, in particular excellent use of Excel with previous experience in managing and developing others. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and have excellent written and spoken English.
