The role involves closing out in SAP to ensure Hays SLAs are met, providing stores supervision for engineering equipment, tooling, and prisoner FF&E management. You will operate, maintain, and manage efficiently with minimal supervision, maintaining stores inventories, minimum stock levels, FF&E asset list management, and tooling reconciliations. You will participate in team activities, ensuring all equipment is correctly maintained and repaired, maximizing operational efficiency and safety. Responsibilities include managing the store in compliance with Hays and HMPPS policies, handling the day-to-day issue and receipt of FF&E, tools, and equipment, and conducting housekeeping of all store areas. You will conduct equipment inspections, quarantine unserviceable items, ensure all equipment is correctly labelled and documented, assist in compliance checks, and carry out basic stores activities related to receiving and dispatching consignments. You will attend engineering meetings with a supply/logistical interaction, develop and maintain effective relationships with customers, stakeholders, contractors, and departments, and promote a safe working culture adhering to Health & Safety procedures. Additional tasks include managing and mentoring prisoner working groups, liaising with engineers and subcontractors, taking a proactive approach to client liaison, supporting best working practices, and completing all work-related documentation accurately and on time. Availability for scheduled and unplanned weekend working is required. Person Specification We are looking for a candidate with basic to intermediate IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, along with some experience in updating systems. The ideal candidate will hold a C&G Level 2 Certificate in Warehousing and Storage and an IOSH or equivalent qualification. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, as is the ability to take notes effectively.
