Role: Receptionist
Department: People & Organisational Development
Location: Wath-on-Dearne, Rotherham
Salary: £23,286 - £23,748 (pro rata)
Hours: 24
Contract Type: Temporary for 12 months
As a Receptionist you will undertake reception and administrative duties and act as the first point of contact for visitors and learners to the force training centre.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure visitors to the training centre are received professionally and receive all necessary assistance to support their visit.
2. Act as a single point of contact for visitors.
3. Operate the visitors and contractors’ identification and signing in systems.
4. Deal with telephone and e-mail enquiries from internal and external customers and receive and distribute mail.
5. Prepare data for staff within Training Centre and canteen area regarding student numbers.
6. Use the public address system as and when required.
7. Ensure security of reception area as part of locking up procedure.
Skills And Experience
1. Skilled in effective communication and customer service skills, demonstrating a professional, helpful presence to staff and visitors.
2. Able to input and retrieve training information from force systems and manage/update records as required.
3. Understands the operation of the building and the activity that takes place within the building to enable the best assistance to staff and visitors.
4. Identify risks/issues with the effective operation of the building and takes proactive steps to escalate these.

Eligibility
Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
