I am seeking a highly skilled Building Services Engineer (Electrical Focus) to join a dynamic technology services company in Slough. This role is essential for maintaining critical building systems and ensuring optimal environmental conditions across our site.
Looking for someone ideally who has experience in a Data Centre or worked in critical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and PPM : Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks on all mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems, including air conditioning, UPS, generators, and LV systems.
Electrical Systems Management : Fault-find and resolve issues using graphical and alarm data to keep systems operational and efficient.
Control Centre Duties : Monitor and maintain building conditions using Building Management Systems (BMS) to ensure optimal performance.
Permit to Work System : Operate and enforce the Permit to Work system in compliance with Health & Safety procedures.
Sub-Contractor Supervision : Oversee and manage sub-contractors to ensure work is completed to standard, including approvals and safety oversight during repair/service tasks.
Record Keeping : Ensure timely completion of all relevant documentation related to maintenance, breakdowns, and reactive tasks. Maintain accurate data in the Computer-Based Maintenance System (e.g., Maximo).
Health & Safety Compliance : Prepare and adhere to Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks, and maintain a safe working environment at all times.
Requirements:
Technical Qualification : City & Guilds or equivalent NVQ in Electro-Mechanical principles; 17th or 18th Edition BS7671 certification preferred.
Experience : Proven background in maintaining electrical systems and building services, with relevant industry experience.
Monitoring & Control : Knowledge of BMS and experience overseeing building systems through centralised control platforms.
Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication abilities; adept at collaborating with colleagues and client representatives.
