Assistant Management Accountant | £30,000 - £35,000 + Study Support | Bolton + Hybrid | PE-backed business | Progressive role
Axon Moore are delighted to be partnering with a high-growth, PE-backed business in Bolton to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant who is hard-working, driven and keen to succeed. This is a highly sought-after role which is well suited to ambitious aspiring chartered accountant seeking broad exposure across management accounts, KPI reporting, cashflow forecasting and much more.
This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively within the finance team.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assisting with month-end, including preparing and posting journals, variance analysis and generating management accounts
2. Analysing costs and expenses and identifying areas for cost control and efficiency improvements
3. Assisting with forecasting and budget preparation
4. Balance sheet reconciliations
5. Preparing and presenting management reports on key financial metrics
6. Assisting with monthly cost of sales reporting and helping to identify improvements and areas for investigation
7. Creating and implementing analytical tools and reports, variances, trends and opportunity for improvement to add value for the wider business
8. Internal and external audits
9. Liaising with all departments and assisting in preparing management reporting
10. Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulations and internal policies
11. Providing financial information to non-financial stakeholders
Required Experience and Skills:
1. Part-Qualified AAT or ACCA/CIMA
2. Prior exposure to month-ends
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills
4. Good organisational and time-keeping skills
5. High attention to detail and able to take ownership of their role
6. Good IT and MS Excel skills
