Staffordshire County Council is searching for an experienced and committed Senior Practitioner to enhance their Fostering Team. You will be instrumental in supporting foster carers, guiding social workers, and ensuring positive outcomes for children in our care system. Your role will involve maintaining high-quality foster care and compliance with legislation and policies.

What you will do:
1. Provide professional leadership and support to social workers within the fostering team.
2. Assess, supervise, and support foster carers, ensuring high-quality placements for children.
3. Conduct fostering assessments, including Form F assessments and reviews.
4. Ensure compliance with fostering regulations, national minimum standards, and local authority policies.
5. Liaise with multi-agency professionals, including education, health, and safeguarding teams.
6. Support placement stability by offering advice, intervention, and training to foster carers.
7. Attend and contribute to fostering panels, care planning meetings, and case reviews.
8. Maintain accurate case records and prepare reports for court proceedings when required.
9. Contribute to service development, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices.
Requirements:
1. Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with Social Work England registration.
2. Extensive experience in fostering, looked-after children, or safeguarding within a local authority setting.
3. Strong knowledge of Fostering Regulations, the Children Act, and relevant social care legislation.
4. Experience conducting assessments and supervising foster carers.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children, carers, and professionals.
6. Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment.
7. A commitment to promoting the welfare and well-being of children in foster care.
8. Enhanced DBS check required.
