Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic Employment Advisor on fixed term appointment, ending 31st March 2025. This is to support the Wellbeing Recovery Employment Service (WRES) project, funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) to cover the period from April 2023 to March 2025
The project is being managed by East Riding of Yorkshire Council with Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust as a project delivery partner. The project funding is for the delivery of year 3 of the UKSPF for the 'People and Skills' grant, to deliver on the following investment areas:
1. Support for the unemployed
2. Skills support for the workforce
The project is due to complete 31st March 2025 and to achieve the aims and objectives we are looking to recruit a team of people to deliver the project outcomes.
WRES will provide support to individuals, aged 16+, to engage or re-engage in employment through skills development workshops and job search support and advice .
The successful candidates need to be forward thinking, innovative and able to work under posts involve developing connections both internally and externally and building networks with local organisations. This role is part of an employment support and advice service, working closely with people with common mental health problems who are facing related barriers to accessing Employment, Education and / or basic skill provision
Main duties of the job
The main duties of this role will include -
3. Managing a case load of up to 25 service users (WTE)
4. Support service users to work towards, gain, return to or retain employment
5. Provide interventions within the employment team - this includes one to one sessions [face to face / telephone / video call] and /or to support service users to access and utilise related courses and support available via Humber Recovery & Wellbeing College.
6. Collaboratively working within the Wellbeing Recovery Employment Team and within the wider Prevention, Recovery and Wellbeing footprint, utilising other internal services where necessary via internal referral pathway
7. To reduce stigma of people with mental health conditions in employment, WRES, and wider Trust

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential
8. Good standard of general education
9. Knowledge acquired through in-house training, short course and experience to NVQ 3 level or equivalent acquired through formal training or experience to diploma level
10. Demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between unemployment, mental health and social issues (, ability to work, debt, social isolation, loss of selfconfidence, stress/frustration and anger) and how these issues may impact on future job performance
11. Demonstrate an understanding of the value of work to health and vocational rehabilitation for unemployed individuals experiencing Mental Health issues

12. Qualification in employment activity job retention / mediation / coaching

13. Experience of working with people who have experienced a mental health condition
14. Evidence of providing employment related support to those with a health condition or disability
