About the role
Reporting to the Head of Retail, the Store Manager at Leica UK is responsible for leading a team in achieving store sales targets and KPIs and driving highly engaging customer journeys.
The ideal candidate is an inspiring leader with an entrepreneurial and customer-centric mindset who motivates, coaches, and develops a high-performing team while creating an environment that delivers an exceptional experience for our customers. Being a great ambassador of the brand, the Store Manager will uphold Leica values and always ensure operational excellence.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Customer Service and Sales
* Focus on driving sales and business development whilst achieving store KPIs.
* Lead the team in providing the best service and experience possible to every customer.
* Coach the team in building and developing ‘customer for life’ relationships with customers and understanding and prioritising customer value and needs, via our Clientelling programme.
* Support and educate the team in dealing with customer complaints and issues effectively and professionally, securing a positive outcome in line with our brand values.
* Prepare and analyse sales reports and KPIs weekly and monthly; create and execute action plans to drive performance.
* Support the local store marketing and customer engagement initiatives and events; monitor their impact on sales, customer acquisition and loyalty.
* Build your own client base and actively contribute to achieving sales target.
Store Operations
* Monitor and analyse the performance of products to maximise sales opportunities.
* Evaluate stock levels regularly and place orders promptly to secure product availability.
* Follow inventory and security procedures to minimise stock loss and effectively deal with stock discrepancies.
* Manage staff rotas, absences and holidays to ensure the store is effectively resourced and sales goals are met.
* Ensure all cash, POS and other systems procedures are strictly adhered to and properly executed by all team members.
* Maintain Leica standards and follow procedures at all times across the store in merchandising, service, stock management and back-office activities and be the main contact for health and safety in the store.
People Management
* Uphold company policies, collaborating with the Head of Retail and HR Manager.
* Lead the team to achieve store targets by positively communicating sales, service targets and results, providing updates and ensuring that the team understands their individual roles in delivering these targets.
* Create a culture of continuous feedback, learning and improvement within the store team; deliver daily briefings, coaching, training and development and performance management when required.
* Maintain the Leica way and ensure all staff adhere to our brand values, dress code and company standards.
* Actively liaise, communicate and develop good relationships with key people e.g. Marketing, Finance, Head of Retail and Head Office, throughout the business to drive store success.
* Hold monthly team 121s based on focused development plans to boost performance.
Brand Ambassador
* Act as a role model for the team and others across the company with a brand knowledge that is second to none.
* Develop and maintain excellent professional relationships and liaise with brand representatives regularly to ensure full compliance with visual, people and service standards.
* Represent the brand and network with guests at store events and activities to promote Leica’s image, the brand and its products.
* Attend and network at external events to build and develop relationships to increase brand awareness, boost traffic to the store and corresponding increase in business.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
* Proven Store Manager or similar experience ideally in premium or luxury retail.
* Demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding targets and driving sales growth.
* A strong team leader and people manager with an entrepreneurial mindset and passion for exceptional customer service.
* Strong retail operation experience and financial acumen.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
* Flexible and resilient with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
* Great knowledge and passion for photography and TV; strong technical understanding is a plus.
* Intermediate or advanced in Microsoft Office.
