At Ortho Europe, we are a leading manufacturer and distributor of prosthetic, orthotic, and seating products. Now, we’re looking for a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our experienced team in Abingdon and play a crucial role in our mission.
Job role summary
The role: As a Warehouse Operative, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, ensuring the smooth running of our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Handling, inspecting, and receipting deliveries: You’ll be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring they meet our quality standards.
2. Updating receipts on a computer-based system: Accuracy is key as you record and track all incoming inventory.
3. Picking customer orders: Fulfilling customer orders with precision and care.
4. Packing and dispatching national and international customer orders: Safely packaging products for shipment to our customers around the world.
5. Ensuring all documentation is accurately completed: Keeping detailed records of all warehouse activities.
6. Stock taking: Conducting regular stock checks to maintain accurate inventory levels.
Skills and Experience
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
1. Good written and verbal communication skills: Clear communication is essential for collaborating with team members and updating records.
2. Ability to use own initiative and seek advice when required: Demonstrating independence while knowing when to ask for guidance.
3. Excellent attention to detail: Ensuring accuracy in all aspects of your work.
4. Positive and helpful attitude at all times: Maintaining a can-do attitude even in challenging situations.
5. Good team player: Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
6. Competent IT skills: Comfortable using computer-based systems for data entry and record keeping.
7. Good organizational skills: Managing tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
8. Self-motivated: Taking initiative and staying focused on tasks without constant supervision.
Warehouse experience is preferred but not essential as training will be given.
