* Job Title: Senior Social Worker
* Location: Office based in Pontypridd with regular travel
* Salary: £40,000
* Job Type: Permanent, full-time (37.5 hrs)
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the personal welfare team for the Wales region, ensuring high-quality, outcomes-focused service for clients and their dependants.
* Effectively manage casework, including allocation and case management, fostering efficiency and excellence.
* Handle a small caseload of clients, conducting quality assessments and providing appropriate interventions such as welfare benefits advice, advocacy, emotional support, and practical advice.
* Drive service performance and improvement, proactively addressing any performance or practice issues.
* Support the team through supervision, appraisal, case reviews, and observations, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
* Act as the safeguarding lead for the region, advising and supporting team members to ensure adherence to organisational safeguarding policies.
* Manage the delivery of interventions, predominantly through a home visiting service, addressing welfare benefits, mobility, social isolation, and financial issues.
* Stay updated on relevant legislation and good practices, sharing information across the team and the wider organisation.
Experience/ Qualifications:
* A degree in social work or equivalent social work qualification and current professional registration
* Experience of leading/managing a team with the ability to manage & effectively prioritise caseloads
* Experience of community-based social care services with experience of delivery with older people and / or disability services
* Knowledge and understanding of the values and principles underpinning working with vulnerable adults and their carers within the community setting,
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and good practice, particularly concerning older people, mental health and disability
* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with good judgement and logical decision-making ability
* A valid driving license and access to own vehicle
