The Intermediate Care In-patient Therapy Team are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a band 5 Occupational Therapist to join Uckfield ICU as part of our dynamic inpatient therapy team.

Main duties of the job
1. To practice as an Occupational Therapist as part of the inpatient therapy team that manages the therapy case load and complex discharge planning on the unit.
2. To develop and maintain a high standard of clinical practice as a member of the multidisciplinary team, in line with the code of professional conduct of the College of Occupational Therapists.
3. To assist the multi-disciplinary team in preparing intervention plans, implementing rehabilitation and facilitating discharges.
4. To work jointly with other professionals to ensure a patient-centred approach.
5. Review and reflect on your practice through regular participation in professional supervision with your nominated occupational therapy supervisor.
6. To provide clinical supervision to other members of the team, as agreed with the Therapy Lead.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Professional Registration
* Professional qualification such as a degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy.
* Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
* Evidence of ongoing education.
Experience
* Relevant postgraduate or undergraduate experience in the clinical field.
* Experience of working in adults inpatient rehabilitation setting.
Skills and Knowledge
* Experience of using assessment tools relevant to client group.
* Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for individuals.
* Good communication and negotiation skills.
* Ability to plan and prioritise a caseload efficiently.
* Demonstrate co-operative team working and awareness of the roles of other professionals.
* Experience within specialism underpinned by theory and specific therapeutic knowledge.
* Ability to demonstrate the application of research-based practice.

* Ability to occasionally travel between sites.
* Valid driving licence.
