The BHFT CYPIT service is an integrated Children's Therapy service, shaped around the needs of the child and family. We are structured within integrated teams, based around a locality area of Berkshire, and work closely together where appropriate, to ensure we have the greatest therapeutic impact, working either directly or through other people.
Working in our mainstream school team, you will be responsible for the planning and management of your own caseload and interventions working within our impact-based model of support. As part of this, you will be supported to develop and enhance your specialist skills working with children and young people (CYP) with speech, language, and communication needs.
Main duties of the job
1. Work as part of the Children and Young Peoples Integrated Therapy team under the direction of a Band 7 Operational Lead. You will function as an autonomous clinician with a role in supporting the delivery of the new CYPF model.
2. Take responsibility for the planning and management of your own caseload and interventions, and supporting/supervising the planning of caseload management of Band 5 and other junior staff members within the designated locality area.
3. Deliver a high standard of speech and language therapy care to children and young people including those with complex needs. This could be in a range of settings, including clinics, early years settings, homes, mainstream schools, and special schools. You will evidence a high level of problem solving, reasoning skills, and independence of judgement, using evidence-based/person-centred principles.
4. Contribute to our integrated model of service delivery and the development of integrated working.
5. Ensure that effective outcome measures and evidence-based feedback is provided as a way of evaluating therapeutic input.
