We are currently recruiting for an E & RE Director to join our established and experienced Specialty Business team here at RSA on a hybrid basis Your Role Your role will lead a team responsible for underwriting and trading a portfolio of risks across the UK and globally in line with the agreed strategy, risk appetite and performance targets. You will lead and motivate your team to achieve targets, and personally trade the most complex of cases. Your role will be high-profile both internally and externally, delivering growth and profitability across the portfolio in line with the Regional and Group strategic objectives and you will be accountable for the overall performance of the segment P&L. You will be a recognised specialist in your field, networking with internal and external contacts and you may represent RSA on external bodies. This will include taking a leading role in influencing market expectations, direction, standards, and legislation in line with RSA's best interests and commercial priorities and promoting RSA as a leading insurer. You will build and maintain market leading and value-added propositions for our broker and customer base, complying with the required standards of underwriting experience. You will provide technical leadership, direction, support, guidance, and advice to colleagues. Whilst delivering market leading products, securing profitable business, and developing the underwiring function in line with the Underwriting strategy. You will lead the development and implementation of P&L segment strategy in order to deliver the required contribution from the segment P&L, including business growth, profitability, and supporting the broader global vertical and implementation. About You You will have excellent relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills to influence, guide and build effective relationships with brokers, customers, and internal stakeholders. This will include customers and brokers at the most senior level. You will have experience of developing business strategies and customer propositions with expert technical knowledge in Power and Renewable energy, alongside deep knowledge in the products.
