Early Career Teacher (ECT) - Worksop (Temporary)
Academics are currently looking for an Early Career Teacher (ECT) to support primary schools across Worksop, Nottinghamshire.
We can help you secure a post where you can potentially complete your induction training.
This Early Career Teacher (ECT) post can provide you with short-term classroom experience, benefiting you by providing teaching experience before securing a long-term/permanent placement with the responsibility of planning and preparation. This is a great way to develop your behaviour management and teaching style.
Main duties of an Early Career Teacher (ECT) working on a supply basis include:
1. A reliable, professional, and caring approach.
2. Offering continuity and support for the students in your care.
3. To teach clearly structured lessons/sequences of work which interest and motivate students.
4. Pupils' learning needs/abilities taken into account and work differentiated if/when needed, following existing plans in place and utilising classroom support where applicable.
5. Learning objectives are clearly shared with pupils and revisited to ensure progress made and understood.
6. Interactive whole class or collaborative group work strategies are used within the lesson.
7. Active and independent learning is promoted that enables pupils to think for themselves and to plan and manage their own learning.
8. As an Early Career Teacher, you need to be able to establish a clear framework for classroom discipline and follow the school's procedures for managing behaviour which recognises, encourages, and rewards good behaviour.
9. When working on a supply basis, you may be required to mark and assess pupils' work, using a range of monitoring and assessment strategies, evaluating pupil progress toward the planned learning objectives set out by the school.
10. To reflect and evaluate on your own teaching and modify or amend as appropriate.
11. To keep up-to-date with current educational thinking/best practice by attending relevant In-Service Education and Training when applicable and available.
