JOB DESCRIPTION Role: IT and Telecoms Tutor Location: Greater London Area Responsible to: Operations Manager Salary: £40K depending on experience Job Purpose:To plan and deliver high quality learning for adults in the subject of IT and Telecoms to BTEC Level 3 students in: Health & Safety Develop own effectiveness and professionalism Interpersonal and Written Communication Technical Fault Diagnosis Working With ICT Hardware and Equipment Testing ICT Systems Fibre Telecommunication Techniques Job Description: Create high quality innovative schemes of work, lesson plans and teaching resources that support, stretch, and challenge and inspire learning. Use appropriate embedded teaching methods to promote English and Maths in your teaching, learning and assessment and provide evidence that this has taken place. Use appropriate embedded teaching methods to promote Safeguarding and the Prevent Agenda and provide evidence that this has taken place. Apply the principles of RARPA and design and implement initial assessments and skills checks, analyse results, and use to plan and/or adjust teaching, learning and assessment accordingly. Apply the principles of RARPA and design formative and summative assessments. Record the progress and achievement of each learner in the Individual Learning Plan (ILP). At the end of each of session provide detailed, individual feedback to all learners, verbally and ensure feedback is recorded in each individual ILP. Ensure learners record progression in their ILP at the end of each session. Ensure all learners complete mid-term and end of course evaluations. At all times you will be prepared to undergo Observation of Teaching. Develop learners’ confidence and self-esteem. Ensure that each learner’s contribution is recognised and valued and create a climate conducive to the learning needs of adults. Provide learners with information and advice to ensure learners are aware of potential progression routes to enhance their learning. Complete to a high standard all relevant BTEC and Aim2Learn paperwork, administrative and recording tasks related to delivery of the programme. Achieve specified targets and meet deadlines. Continue to develop professional skills, knowledge, and expertise. Take ownership of and be proactive in undertaking continuous professional development. Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) subject-based IT or Telecoms qualification(s). Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (can be working towards). Intention to continue to Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training is desirable. Level 2 English and Math’s qualifications. To be highly personable with excellent communication skills. To be self-motivated with ability to motivate others. To work with a positive, flexible, and professional manner. To be honest, trustworthy, and reliable. To be organised with ability to produce high quality course documentation and resources. Able to work with a variety of colleagues and clients from different professions and backgrounds.
