Position Purpose: This role has been created to ensure that there are sufficient resources in place at all times to assist the site manager of the site to complete tasks in line with company policies & procedures to maintain an efficient, safe and compliant operation. Currently, there is no in-shift supervision for the whole site, and responsibility 24/7 sits with a sole plant manager, which needs to be delegated to an in-shift level. This role will ensure the site’s compliance, health & safety, and operational requirements are met across all areas as well as distributing operational resources as required. Some on-call duties are involved, and team members will be provided with a work phone to be readily available to take calls 7 days a week. Key Job Activities: Ensure resource distribution plan for shift is in place/amend as necessary. Check the handover of KPI’s and review figures. Lead on new starter training and inductions. Review probation periods for new starters & manage performance. Handle sickness/return to works/staff admin issues/requirements during shift. Deliver any outstanding toolbox talks/team meetings/training. Conduct shift site inspections, including work safe observations and report good catches, resolving them, and updating reporting systems. Monitor SEMS & LMS to support Site Manager. Complete site inductions for external contractors, site visitors, and sign permits to work. Conduct duty of care visits. Review stock control with engineering team. Carry out monthly spores testing. Perform month-end reporting. Raise PO numbers. Attend daily/weekly/monthly Teams calls with the wider team as required. Certifications and/or Licenses: Required: FLT license, IOSH, abrasive wheel, working at heights, Fire Marshall, First aid at work. Preferred: COSHH, confined space, Environmental permitting & awareness, Emissions monitoring, Accident & investigation, Permit to work, Hazard identification & risk assessment, Asbestos awareness, Legionella awareness, hand-arm vibration, Electrical safety, MEWP, Tower scaffold, slinging & lifting.
