Key Responsibilities
As an IT / Telecom Technician, your responsibilities will include:
* Managing, installing, and configuring broadband services for customers.
* Setting up and managing VoIP systems, including initial configuration and troubleshooting.
* Configuring and troubleshooting routers, including managed routers (e.g., Draytek, Cisco).
* Staying up-to-date with broadband, VoIP, networking, and general IT technology developments.
* Providing first and second-line IT support for hardware, software, and network issues.
* Managing and troubleshooting network systems, including LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN connections.
* Monitoring and maintaining servers, backups, and security systems to ensure optimal performance and data protection.
* Responding to technical support requests via phone, email, or helpdesk, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
* Installing and upgrading software, ensuring compatibility and compliance with licensing agreements.
* Maintaining accurate records of IT inventory, repairs, and support tickets.
* Supporting IT projects, such as system upgrades and rollouts.
* Educating and assisting staff with technical issues and best practices to enhance IT literacy.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in broadband installation, VoIP setup, and router configuration.
* Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
* Strong knowledge of networking principles, including LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN systems.
* Experience with server management, backups, and security systems.
* Familiarity with Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office 365, and basic server administration.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
Desirable but not essential Skills & Certifications:
* Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals.
* Experience with managed routers (e.g., Draytek, Cisco).
* Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
* Understanding of IT security best practices and backup solutions.

Pay: £23,500.00-£30,000 per year
