Vacancy – Design Engineer/Draughtsperson
The Design Engineer/Draughtsperson is responsible for producing a high standard of general arrangements and layout drawings to standard engineering practice, detailed drawings for manufacture, including producing detailed material profiles for CNC laser cutting
Responsibilities:
* Interpreting contract documentation and specifications ensuring that equipment is designed and manufactured in accordance with industry regulations and project specifications
* Taking part in production/project review meetings to ensure timescales are adhered to.
* Producing a high standard of general arrangements and layout drawings for manufacture
* Producing sheet/plate pattern profiles for laser cutting and fabricating
* Liaising with sales, project teams and management
* Creating parts lists, bills of materials and identifying materials and proprietary items to be purchased for manufacture to ensure timely arrival of required materials
* Meeting and improving costs where applicable and feasible using recognised cost analysis methods
* Developing new innovative products to supplement the existing product range.
Education:
* A degree in Mechanical Engineering or demonstrable experience of working in a similar role.
Requirements:
* Demonstrable experience of working in an engineering industry
* Knowledge of fabricating, welding, and machining processes
* Good understanding of materials handling equipment, from both technical and manufacturing aspects (screw conveyors, mixers, belt conveying, metering feeders, discharging aids)
* Knowledge and experience of supplying equipment and solutions to the food, aggregates sectors etc, Competent in the use of Microsoft Office and Autocad
* Ability to interpret contract documentation and specifications.
* Ability to interpret P&ID drawings.
* Proficient in the use of 2D CAD
* Experience of using 3D CAD (Solidworks)
* Good understanding of Health and Safety Regulations
* Understanding of the requirements of ISO 9001
* Excellent communication, verbal, and written skills
* Ability to quickly establish and where appropriate further develop effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
* Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with challenging situations.
