Advanced Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized support plans for students with special needs.
Assist students by creating a culture of success, ensuring they have a positive attitude to learning to increase their life chances, attainment and social and emotional development.
Deliver intervention programmes to individuals and small groups, preparing relevant and appropriate learning experiences in conjunction with the department staff.
Track and monitor student life-skill targets and/or EHCP outcomes.
Assessing student progress and providing feedback to teachers and SENCOs.
Supervising students during activities, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
Contributing to the overall school community through active participation.
Advanced Teaching Assistant Requirements:
Relevant qualifications and certifications as a Teaching Assistant or a Degree related to Education or Psychology.
Specialism in SEN and/or EAL is desirable.
Proven experience working with secondary school students, particularly those with special needs.
Understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
Passion for education and a genuine desire to make a difference.
Ability to adapt and work collaboratively in a dynamic educational environment.
Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies for supporting students with SEN.
Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for a new one.
