Job Description: Level 3 Nursery Practitioner
Salary: £9,383.40 per annum
Hours: 15 hours per week
Ellingham House Day Nursery is set idyllically in a Georgian country house surrounded by 2.5 acres of lawns and woodland. In this safe space, our children have the opportunity to explore, stretch, and run as well as practice their climbing and balancing skills in the ever popular ‘bear cave’. The paddock is home to our friendly Valais Black Nose sheep- Baarbara and Soozie. The children help the team care for them and learn how to stay safe around animals. The nursery has a real ‘home from home’ feel, with welcoming rooms specifically suited to babies, toddlers and preschoolers.
The nursery is open 8:00am-6:00pm and we would require you to work a minimum of 15 hours per week within those hours. Please note the nursery is not a term time only nursery.
Early Years Practitioner duties and responsibilities*:
Ensure that each child’s individual needs are met and a high standard of professional care and education is delivered in a caring, safe and secure environment in which all children can play, learn and develop
Observe, assess and plan an interesting, stimulating and challenging range of early years activities which supports each child’s individual learning and development needs and abilities
Engage as a professional member of the team, exhibiting a flexible attitude and willingness to develop new skills
Ensure that company policies and procedures are read, applied, reviewed regularly and adhered to by all
Follow risk assessments diligently and report all health and safety matters to management
Enhance the all-around daily needs of children, including their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development

Early Years Practitioner requirements and skills:
Full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification - essential
Fluent in written and spoken English - essential
Over 1 year’s experience of working in Early Years - desirable
Knowledge of the Statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - desirable
