BDS are recruiting for an experienced Young Person Housing Support Officer for a social justice charity based in Harlow and Loughton.
Working hours: 35 hours a week
Shifts vary between 8am - 4pm and 12pm - 8pm, including working one weekend in four and one late shift in three months.
Pay rate: £14.71 per hour PAYE / £19.22 per hour UMB
Temporary ongoing position for the next 6 months initially (strong likelihood of becoming permanent).
We are searching for a Support Worker for young people within the Harlow and Loughton area. Your role will be to improve the lives of young people using the service by providing direct housing-related support services. You’ll be working with external agencies with the aim of achieving successful move-on and other measurable outcomes. There may also be a requirement to work on your own, within the community or within the service setting.
1. Carry out initial assessment of the potential or actual service user, including any risks, or his/her needs and requirements in respect of the service on offer.
2. Maintain contact on a regular basis with service users in accordance with the requirements of the service.
3. Risk assess and take the necessary actions in respect of any activities with service users including personal safety.
4. Develop relationships with appropriate external groups/agencies in support of services users' needs and requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
* Enhanced Adult and Child DBS, less than 8 months old or registered on the update service, already in place prior to applying for this position.
* You will need to be a driver with access to a car with business insurance.
