Job Opportunity: Deputy Homes Manager
Location: Liverpool
Salary: £35,000 plus on call allowance and bonuses
Our client is seeking a dedicated Deputy Homes Manager to join their team in providing outstanding care and support for children and young people. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead, inspire, and make a tangible difference in young lives.
Role Overview:
The Deputy Manager will work closely with the Registered Manager, supporting the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining the highest standards of care. This position involves leadership responsibilities, supervising staff, and overseeing the delivery of therapeutic, evidence-based childcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership & Management:
o Assist the Registered Manager in running the home efficiently and effectively.
o Provide supervision, coaching, and support to staff, promoting professional growth.
o Lead by example, demonstrating best childcare practices.
* Care Delivery:
o Ensure the implementation of placement plans for each child, focusing on their individual needs and well-being.
o Safeguard children and young people, ensuring adherence to all safeguarding policies and procedures.
o Foster positive relationships with children, families, and professionals.
* Compliance & Standards:
o Maintain records and regulatory documents, ensuring the home meets Ofsted's Quality Standards.
o Participate in quality assurance processes, audits, and inspections.
o Support the Registered Manager in managing budgets and ensuring operational efficiency.
* Team Development:
o Conduct staff inductions, supervisions, and appraisals.
o Ensure staff training needs are identified and met, maintaining a skilled and motivated team.
Requirements:
* Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce (or equivalent) - essential.
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or a commitment to achieve) - desirable.
* Significant experience working with children and young people in a residential setting.
* Strong knowledge of childcare legislation, safeguarding protocols, and regulatory standards.
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
