In today’s world it’s important to work for a company that has a clear purpose, giving back to communities and supporting what is truly important in the world.
When considering a career move it’s vital to work for a business that is aligned to your values and goals, a place where you can belong. See what WSP stands for in 2024 and beyond…
You’ll be supporting our operational colleagues within the P&B business in the UK, particularly the P&B project teams who deliver major design and site-based projects.
The P&B business has a diverse and rapidly growing portfolio of projects involving everything from:
1. structural, mechanical, electrical, fire, digital, industrial, architectural and numerous other designs;
2. surveys, inspections and other work on many different types of sites in many different environments;
3. construction site management.
You’ll be an integral part of P&B and will help in the continual improvement of H&S within that business.
YOUR TEAM
Whilst you will primarily work with the P&B H&S Business Partner, you will also be supported by your counterparts in the wider Safety, Health and Wellbeing (SHW) team.
The P&B business currently employs over 1,000 people and aspires to develop and grow significantly in the coming years. As a design consultancy, whilst much of our work is desk-based, some colleagues work for long periods on site (or even manage construction sites), undertake higher-risk activities or travel to high-risk countries; all require dedicated and tailored health and safety support.
YOUR ROLE
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the P&B H&S Business Partner and providing H&S advice and support to our project teams and individual employees within P&B.

2. The cascading of H&S communication to P&B employees (via senior leaders).
3. Delivery of H&S objectives.
4. Incident and accident investigation and managing data.
5. Assisting with the H&S elements of project bid support.
6. Assisting with the H&S assessment of prospective suppliers.
7. Internal H&S assurance auditing (CDM design and site).
8. Helping project leaders drive H&S culture and safety management system compliance within P&B projects.
9. To a lesser extent, development and maintenance of assigned H&S policy documents and tools held in our safety management system.
The role requires the successful candidate to:
1. Be a vocal advocate of H&S and have the passion to seek out and drive forward H&S initiatives, independently or as part of a team, with a goal of continually improving H&S for our colleagues.
2. Follow a process of continual professional development; being aware of, and in touch with any changes to relevant UK H&S legislation, Approved Codes of Practice and industry best practice standards.
Work as part of the wider WSP community liaising with, as appropriate, our UK colleagues, P&B Business Unit / Discipline Stream Operational Teams, P&B Project Teams, and all other key stakeholders as appropriate.
We would love to hear from you if you have:
