Commercial Gas Engineer
Toro Recruitment is seeking a skilled and reliable Commercial Gas Engineer on behalf of an innovative, fast-growing organisation within the energy sector. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining and improving the performance of heat network systems, ensuring energy efficiency and reliability across various sites.
Key Responsibilities of a Commercial Gas Engineer:
1. Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on commercial gas boilers and associated plant equipment.
2. Attend and resolve reactive callouts, ensuring minimal downtime of heat supply systems.
3. Diagnose faults and undertake necessary repairs on plant equipment such as pumps, valves, plate heat exchangers, and pressurisation units.
4. Support project work, including scoping, installation, and commissioning of remedial upgrades to plant systems.
5. Maintain accurate service records using a digital maintenance system to ensure compliance and reporting accuracy.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 2 years' hands-on experience servicing and repairing commercial gas boilers (1MW+).
2. Valid commercial gas qualifications (including TPCP1 and BMP1) and NVQ Level 3 in Gas or equivalent.
3. Familiarity with mechanical plant equipment and commercial heating systems, including manufacturers like Hamworthy, Hoval, and Ideal.
4. Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics and P&ID drawings.
5. Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to participate in an on-call rota (approximately 1 week in 4).
