Job Opportunity: Court Team Social Worker Location: Lambeth, London Salary: £44 per hour Contract: Temporary, Full-time Closing Date: Ongoing About the Role Lambeth Council's Children’s Services is looking for an experienced and dedicated Duty and Assessment Social Worker to join our supportive and passionate Court Team. As Social Worker within the Court Team, you will play a pivotal role in responding to referrals, conducting comprehensive assessments, and determining the level of intervention needed for children and families requiring support. You will work closely with a range of partner agencies, ensuring a child-centred approach while promoting the safety and wellbeing of those involved, particularly in relation to court proceedings and legal interventions. Key Responsibilities: Conduct timely and thorough assessments of children and families referred to the service, ensuring that all needs and risks are appropriately identified. Provide evidence-based recommendations for intervention in line with safeguarding policies and practices, particularly in preparation for court proceedings. Collaborate with professionals from health, education, the police, and legal teams to manage and mitigate risks to children. Ensure children’s voices are heard and their best interests are central to all decisions, especially in legal and court settings. Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks, particularly in relation to court requirements. Develop and implement care plans to address the identified needs of children and families, ensuring that multi-agency collaboration is at the heart of service delivery. Attend court hearings, meetings, case reviews, and conferences to advocate for the best outcomes for children and families. What We Are Looking For: HCPC-registered Social Worker with current Social Work England registration. Previous experience in children’s services, ideally in Court Team settings or roles involving child protection and legal proceedings. Strong understanding of child protection procedures, safeguarding legislation, and assessment frameworks, particularly in the context of court proceedings. Ability to manage a varied caseload and work effectively under pressure. Proven track record of working autonomously and as part of a team, with excellent organisational and time management skills
