Our Client, a leading Facilities management company within the landscaping market, requires an Operations Manager.
As an Operations Manager, you will lead and proactively manage your team to ensure the smooth execution of a portfolio of client contracts, meeting client requirements within agreed financial parameters. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient service delivery, and maintaining high standards across all contracts.
In addition, you will build strong relationships with the broader management team and play an active role in identifying opportunities to enhance the company's service offerings. By being proactive in recognising and securing additional work, you will help drive the company's growth and maximise its revenue potential.
The Role:
1. Oversee daily operational tasks within your area/client portfolio, including managing subcontractors and job team operatives' schedules, completing timesheets, risk assessments, and monitoring overall performance. Manage staff performance, including disciplinary matters.
2. Proactively manage training needs for job teams and ensure all storage areas are well-organised and compliant with relevant regulations.
3. Report monthly financial figures to senior management, demonstrating departmental profit and loss, and manage budgets and forecasting.
4. Actively seek out new business opportunities by engaging with potential clients and securing additional works to maximise the company's revenue and service potential.
5. Oversee the full lifecycle of projects, ensuring progress updates are accurately recorded, and all works are reported via the company's CRM system.
6. Support the evaluation and implementation of service changes, managing financial, staffing, and operational implications.
7. Maintain regular, professional communication with clients, addressing issues effectively, and offering innovations or additional services.
8. Ensure contract compliance with company goals, regulatory guidelines, health and safety, and environmental regulations.
9. Monitor contract/job expenditures to ensure financial budgets are adhered to and submit accurate data in a timely manner.
Your Skills:
1. Experience in corporate landscape management with a proven track record of delivering targets and exceptional client service.
2. Holds a recognised horticultural qualification and is knowledgeable in relevant health & safety legislation and regulations.
3. Competent in IT, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to manage financial budgets and forecasting.
4. Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing situations with flexibility.
5. Works well both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative.
6. Demonstrates the ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors, and employees, while being a great communicator.
7. Skilled in managing both small and large-scale projects, with effective time management and strong administrative skills.
