Role Responsibilities
The Customer Host will work as part of a team responsible for the day-to-day delivery of a high standard on-board catering service to passengers. Offer passengers the on-board trolley service throughout the journey, complying with health and safety protocols at all times to meet customer needs and ensure a high-quality customer service.
Be responsible for on-board trolley stock by checking the trolley has enough supply for serving customers prior to the train departing to ensure we can provide the on-board service. Be responsible for maintaining the trolley by keeping it clean, well equipped with an up-to-date price list and report any condition issues to the Depot Manager to enable us to provide the on-board service. Comply with health and safety policies and procedures, safety protocols and briefs by adhering to relevant regulations including COSHH assessments and food hygiene standards to ensure we provide a safe and hygienic on-board service.
Who we’re looking for
Previous experience of working in a customer-focused role. Ability to upsell and promote products to the general public. Flexible and available to work the shifts required - we run a 7-day operation & work 5 shifts over the 7 days.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role. Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills. We fully support our people who want to improve their Welsh language skills, and personal development for Welsh Language skills are offered in a variety of ways such as online learning, classroom courses and funding attendance at local community courses.
