Optical Instrument Design Engineer / Scientist - Sheffield
My client is looking for a Physicist with Engineering experience to provide practical application of scientific principles to optical design, non-destructive testing, radiometry, and other instrumentation products.
You will also evaluate new scientific principles and technologies, incorporating them into electronic prototype designs and builds to evaluate potential applications using lab experiments.
Key Requirements:
1. Instrument Design – the more complex, the better.
2. Strong relevant degree or PhD with an interest or exposure to precision instruments, electronic product design, lasers, optics, firmware, PCBs, sensors, thermal imaging, and/or radiometry.
Responsibilities:
1. Device design, development, testing, calibration, build, and commissioning work as appropriate.
2. Research, development, and maintenance of relevant physics and technology knowledge.
