Job Title: Youth Support Worker
Location: Milton Keynes (Schools and Community Locations)

Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated Youth Support Worker to join our team in delivering essential interventions and support for Children & Young People (CYP) in Milton Keynes. The role will involve working closely with CYPs who are at risk of or involved in the criminal justice system, providing guidance, mentoring, and practical support through structured programs. This is a flexible role that can be offered part-time or on a sessional basis, providing an opportunity to engage with young people in schools, youth centers, and community settings.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Delivery & Engagement:
o Work as part of a team to deliver tailored interventions and structured sessions to CYPs aimed at reducing their involvement in criminal activities.
o Provide one-on-one mentoring, group work, and practical support to CYPs in various settings, including schools and community centers.
o Actively engage with CYPs to build trusting relationships and provide emotional support, helping them to develop positive coping strategies and behaviors.
2. Support & Case Management:
o Assist in developing individualized support plans for CYPs, ensuring the program is tailored to meet their specific needs.
o Monitor progress and provide feedback to the program lead and other relevant professionals regarding each CYP’s development and engagement.
o Maintain regular contact with CYPs and their families to ensure ongoing support throughout the intervention.
3. Community & Stakeholder Engagement:
o Collaborate with local schools, youth services, and social care professionals to deliver a holistic approach to each CYP’s development.
o Engage with families and caregivers to provide guidance and support that reinforces the work being done in the program.
4. Safeguarding & Risk Management:
o Identify and report any safeguarding concerns in line with local policies and organizational procedures.
o Ensure all activities and interventions are conducted in a safe and supportive environment, with appropriate risk assessments in place.
5. Documentation & Record Keeping:
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sessions, including attendance, progress notes, and action plans for each CYP.
o Assist in preparing regular reports to update the program lead on participant progress and overall program impact.
Minimum Requirements:
* Experience working with young people, particularly those who are at risk or have been involved in criminal justice systems.
* A strong understanding of the challenges faced by at-risk youth, including behavioral issues, mental health concerns, and social factors.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with CYPs and their families.
* An understanding of safeguarding procedures and experience managing safeguarding concerns in a professional setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
* A relevant qualification in Youth Work, Social Care, or a related field is desirable.
* Experience delivering group work and interventions aimed at supporting at-risk youth.
* Familiarity with working in partnership with schools, youth services, and other community-based organizations.
