Role Overview: Carry out maintenance and repair operations in accordance with the operational and maintenance plan/budget to improve operational reliability and availability of plant and machinery at the lowest effective maintenance costs for all equipment, installations, and buildings on site.
Description Of The Main Tasks:
1. Provide electrical repair and maintenance skills, including fault analysis and identification, to facilitate repairs and inspections, as well as implementing improvements, installing new equipment, and assisting with small projects, to the standards set by the site management team.
2. LV/HV Installations: Design, install, and test in accordance with IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations; work within the IEE Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment; adhere to The Electricity at Work Regulations (1989) and Quarry Regulations (1999); perform fault level analysis; work with HV and LV switchgear, cables, and transformers; follow technical standards set by the company.
3. Drive Installations: Installation of AC/DC motors, understanding of machine parameters, working with slip ring and squirrel cage induction motors, and knowledge of variable speed drive technologies.
4. Instrumentation Systems: Knowledge of process instrumentation and calibration, including load cells, level control devices, gas analyzers, and PID controllers.
5. Control and Safety Systems: Understanding of The Provision Use Works Equipment Regulations (1992), working with safety-critical control systems and interlocks, programming and fault rectification on PLC systems, and assisting in capital project implementation and commissioning.
6. Understanding of SAP PM, liaising with supervisors on technical and safety issues, developing spare parts strategies, and working flexible hours including weekends and nights as necessary.
Education/Qualifications: Trained in HV/LV systems; City & Guilds; ONC (preferable); HNC (preferable); HND (preferable).
