The Edwin Group is seeking experienced Youth Workers to work in a forward-thinking school that caters to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. The role is to begin as soon as possible and is permanent. About the role: The Youth Worker will be supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs on a one-to-one basis. Building a strong rapport with students and supporting with their complex medical needs. Following the guidance of the teacher but using their own initiative to help the students thrive in school. Working 30 – 37 hours per week, term-time only. Have the choice of working with primary or secondary aged children. About the school: Located in the charming town of Aylesbury – easily accessible with parking and public transport links from areas such as Leighton Buzzard, Hemel Hempstead, Bicester and Luton. Caters to students with Severe and Profound Learning Difficulties and is very well-resourced. Keen to help staff progress in their career with the opportunity to become an Unqualified Teacher. A positive staff culture with wellbeing initiatives running all year round including 15 Mental Health First Aiders. About you: A relevant Level 3 Qualification such as Children and Young People's Workforce. Able to obtain suitable references and a valid DBS check Experience working with children with challenging behaviours and backgrounds.
