As a configuration & product data management engineer, you will work within a design environment interfacing with multiple internal and external customers across various businesses and lifecycle phases of the product, managing physical and functional attributes to ensure efficient project operation and regulatory compliance.

Within Defence, System Engineering & Product Performance, configuration is responsible for the identification, creation and change of engine product structures and are relied upon to provide leadership on behalf of the capability and the project to enable efficient change management operation and to ensure data integrity.

You will work in a team of experienced engineers on a variety of topics spanning over all product lifecycle phases, working in a 3D PLM environment. The work will include regular engagement with external and internal stakeholders on topics like data exchange, process interfaces or supporting digital improvement workstreams.

What you will be doing
As a configuration & product data management engineer, you will have a diverse range of activities that will support your professional growth:
* Implementing project configuration policies and working together with design and development functions to incorporate the design intent into Rolls-Royce product structures.
* Providing guidance and leadership on change management to enable efficient implementation of product changes.
* Advice and supply of relevant product information to other business areas like the procurement production, quality, and service organisation (for example Engineering Bill of Material, or weight attributes).
* Ensuring compliance to configuration management standards and regulatory requirements.
* Engaging with customers and suppliers to define interface standards to enable the exchange of information, such as 3D geometry (Digital Mock-up (DMU)).
* Supporting capability development, including digital transformation within a PLM environment.

* Professionally qualified Engineer (for example UK BEng degree or other national equivalent) or equivalent previous experience.
* Preferable product structure control and change management experience.
* Good stakeholder influencing skills.
* Focus on quality and data integrity, with a mindset to operate in a project environment.
