We are now recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join our New Product Development team in Edinburgh, GB. This is an engineering role within the team that takes R&D prototypes and brings them to production. You will be working on Danfoss's pioneering Digital Displacement technology, radically improving energy efficiency of hydraulic systems. This will be a great opportunity for you in the early stages of your career to develop your skills in the product development process and to work closely with R&D and the manufacturing and test departments. Job Responsibilities As our new Mechanical Engineer, you will interact with different departments within the organization (not only in Scotland) and you’ll need to be able to manage different workstreams in parallel. Also, interacting with various engineering groups to ensure the requirements for market and customer design expectations are met through simulation and test verification. Furthermore, your areas of responsibility are likely to include: • Design and development of parts and systems to bring engineering prototypes into production ready level • Ownership of some of the product development process deliverables and documentation – e.g. paint spec, end of line test spec etc • Design calculations – e.g tolerance stackups and bolted joints • Design for manufacture – owning some of the components and interacting with suppliers Background & Skills We would like to see your application if you have a good degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or similar applicable qualification, alongside relevant work experience. On a more personal note, you are passionate about engineering, self motivated and thorough, with the ability to work well within a team. You have a positive approach and a hands-on attitude to your work. We appreciate good communication skills as an important part of the job is done side-by-side with different levels of stakeholders.
