Overview
ROLE SUMMARY
The QHSE Station Support Manager (Regional) is a key leader to drive the Zero incident and Zero waste culture within the region, ensuring that operational QHSE delivery adheres to the industry's and Swissport's global quality, safety & environment management systems and standards. The QHSE Station Support Manager (Regional) focuses on large station operations but aligns and operates as a regional business partner (North, Central, South, Ireland) and provides support and guidance to the QHSE Regional Support Manager and the Regional Operations Director (ROD) in all aspects of Quality, Safety, Health and Environment.
Responsibilities
1. Proactively partner with the station GM and operational management regarding QHSE topics.
2. Act as the station point of contact for QHSE for all Swissport managers in the respective region.
3. Lead, drive, and continuously improve Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental measures and KPIs related to people, equipment, facilities, and aircraft involved in the operation.
4. Ensure the region operates with the "Just Culture" as part of its core values.
5. Deliver regular QHSE performance reports to management.
6. Act as a change agent and advisor for local management, driving continuous improvement in QHSE areas.
7. Manage and coordinate QHSE improvement and compliance within the region, leading cultural change towards a Zero Incident and Zero Waste mindset.
8. Build sustainable QHSE commitment, awareness, knowledge, behaviors, and engagement of regional management and employees.
9. Ensure the highest levels of qualification, skills, and competencies for the QHSE management team and identify improvement areas.
10. Plan, prepare, and conduct internal safety audits and monitor corrective actions based on audit findings.
11. Initiate and/or carry out investigations on occurrences as applicable.
12. Establish and maintain an operational risk register and legal surveillance per country.
13. Enhance experience sharing by promoting resource exchange and participation in global expert groups.
14. Lead, guide, evaluate, and develop a high-performing team to achieve business objectives and comply with all relevant regulations.
15. Effectively communicate with all levels of the business to align towards common goals.
16. Develop and maintain effective business relationships with all key stakeholders to meet business targets.
17. Align with Swissport's global Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental values and strategies.
Qualifications
* Knowledge of region/country-specific laws and industry regulations related to Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment.
* Proven track record in implementing QHSE systems, processes, and behavioral-based safety programs.
* Successful experience in implementing ISO/OHSAS management systems; certified auditor is desirable.
* Operational and general compliance orientation with the ability to embrace change.
* Leadership qualities to set the tone and lead by example.
* Strong communication skills to help teams understand Swissport Western Europe's direction.
* Able to build positive and trusting relationships and seek a collaborative approach.
* Promote flexibility, adaptability, and agility.
* Demonstrate a sense of urgency and commitment to continuous improvement.
* Excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize workloads effectively.
* Willingness to travel extensively within and outside the geographic QHSE region.
